The CoronaVac vaccine has proven to be 89% effective in preventing ICU hospital admissions

The Health Ministry presented the results of the first study, “Effectiveness of the inactivated CoronaVac vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 in Chile”. The analysis covered 10.5 million people, of whom 4 million were inoculated with the vaccine produced by the Sinovac laboratory between February 2 and April 1, 2021.

President Piñera announces Emergency Family Income will be strengthened to reach 13 million people

The benefit will provide an income of 100,000 Chilean pesos (US$143) per person in a household. The President also stated that the Social Protection Network will be expanded to reach more people and that agreements will be sought to increase tax collection, incorporating greater efforts by higher income groups.
