In view of the information reported by the United Kingdom authorities and the epidemiological situation, the Chilean government has decided:
1. To suspend all direct flights between the United Kingdom and Chile.
2. To ban entry of all foreigners who are not normally resident in Chile and who have been in the United Kingdom in the last 14 days.
3. To require all Chileans and foreigners normally resident in Chile who enter the country, and who have been in the United Kingdom in the last 14 days, to carry out 14 days' mandatory quarantine in Chile.
All these measures will come into effect at midnight on Tuesday, December 22, and will remain in force on a temporary basis for two weeks, after which they will be reviewed.
In the case of foreigners who are not normally resident in Chile, the exceptions established by Article 2 of Supreme Decree 102 of the Interior and Public Security Ministry will remain in force.
In the case of Chilean nationals and foreigners who are normally resident in Chile, the mandatory quarantine will not exempt them from compliance with Exempt Resolution 997 of the Public Health Ministry.
