President Piñera announces large-scale aid package to address the Coronavirus pandemic and economic crisis
The President called on people not to minimize the impact of the disease, not to lower their guard, to avoid generating misplaced optimism or inducing imprudent complacency. He also called on all Chileans to respect the quarantine measures and health regulations, which are designed to protect everyone and contain the spread of Covid-19.
The President of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, recognized that millions of families are having a difficult time because of the health pandemic and economic crisis. He warned that Chile has entered a new phase in recent days with increasing infections and more deaths and these will place even greater demands on the healthcare system and the country.
The President also valued the strength and mettle with which the people of Chile face adversity and was confident that, with unity and working together, Chile will overcome this pandemic.
